The Museum of Contemporary Art
Добавлен 4 окт 2009
Established in 1979, we are the only artist-founded museum in Los Angeles. We are dedicated to collecting and exhibiting contemporary art. We house one of the most compelling collections of contemporary art in the world, comprising roughly 7000 objects, and have a diverse history of ground-breaking, historically-significant exhibitions.
We are committed to the collection, presentation, and interpretation of art created after 1940, in all media, and to preserving that work for future generations. We provide leadership in the field by identifying and presenting the most significant and challenging art of our time, actively supporting the creation of new work, and producing original scholarship.
With two distinct venues in Los Angeles-MOCA Grand Avenue, and The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA-and Michael Heizer’s Double Negative (1969-70) in the Nevada desert, we engage audiences through an ambitious program of exhibitions, educational programs, and publishing.

A 22min documentary about 4 vertical black strokes... wow
A lovely open discussion before the arrival of the TERF, this would barely be possible now.
I'm still convinced that, at some level, these artists are trying to be funny.
Basquiat seems like he was living about 40 years ahead of his own time. If he lived a longer life I think he would have been the picasso of our generation.
So goooood. Thanks for keeping this film alive!
Ok yah , the middle class left salivate over the puerile , shouty , toddler parade of low IQ attention seeking dregs of politics.
Bless you Patti Astor for everything you've done ❤ R.I.P.
DJ DOUGGPOUND IN THE MIX!!!!!
I wish I could have been there at this time... I think I'd take Basquiat away from these dumb questions and ask him some more interesting questions like "what he dreams about?" while trying to hide the way his smile makes me blush 😊
What a heartwarming anthem of inclusivity
👎
💩
And fhe genius of penny rimbaud and steve ignorant and that one chick.
I’m convinced queer number 2 is jello in a disguise. How can two men be so precisely effeminate and have indentical “gay lisp”
“Compliant and resigned” the neo-liberal started way before Obama. The major neocon war monger were mostly born before 1960 and were of age poised to take power 1990-2008. Just think about that and what party is now the party of war starting with Obama. Go research who was staring the wars and who didn’t.
my psychic said I will die in 2042 I hope Amanda Gorman is president then
En el minuto 7:44 aparece como "trabajo étnico" una escena de flamenco, con una música totalmente fuera de onda y un tratamiento muy extraño.
Those accusing others to be 'satanic' are the ones who actually have been deceived into worshipping a demiurge. Would a truly good, all knowing and all loving god kill its creation because they do not behave the way it was intended? And what is it about giving free will but expecting a certain behavior and punishing for not following? Why giving free will in the first place? The abrahamic religions caused billions of dead people. Your so called 'god' is the real satan.
3:45 this clip is awesome XD
He looks strung out and fidgety. Sad he died so young. Tortured soul
My first time hearing this plenty surprised
Fkn love it,very unexpected,
ass2dad
This is a great show. Ends in about four weeks. Go.
I see a room filled with garbage😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
He is a badass!
I wasn't safe in your accursed house when I was tteleported there with "Johnnie"...remember? It was a dream a sequence and a demonstration of your allegiance with Right Wing Shaved Women collaborators in the twilight zone years of your punk post conformity to authority covert and hidden racist attack upon me in your goddamn house. Years ago it was, but I can't watch more than a minute more, although the guy in the first scene looked decent but he hasn't had the chance to teleport and abuse and yell like a fascist to get his 'career" on some revision retour of former glory daze. WTF
Caroline Polachek!!!
Sometimes I return to this for no reason and just ponder
Can you tell us a little bit about Dr. Funkenstein? 😜
This interviewer is truly the worst I have ever seen. Send in someone who either truly understands the art or someone who is truly intrigued by it. This guy sounded so ignorant on all fronts. There are so many issues I have with this interview and his descriptions of what he was observing and the fact that he kept using the word graffiti art when Fab specifically told him that it was the wrong term . He was so disrespectful to keep saying . Also he acted as though other artists with different styles don't also sign their work or don't put identifiers in their work .
😂😅😂😅 Update: all of the drug addicts are now over a year clean, the amount of jobs and training programs have boomed and the people of los angeles feel safe again in skid row... all because of RISK and a yellow mural. All praises to the Krylon Gods 😂😅😂
Lacking any aesthetic , no authentic beauty, still you lot wanna imagine and interpret some kind of deep meaning in this trivial art. Looks like a child's painting. I get it, dude was sweet sounding, enigmatic and handsome. A light skin black NYer with a French name and heroin addiction, how cool and hip, especially for the 1980s. If not for the personal identity of the artist this work would not be interesting. Basquia's art is only compelling because white liberals need black mascots.
Иногда мне кажется она моя копия изнутри, еще за долго до того как я ее увидела , я двигалась , чувствовала себя так же ,и когда вышел этот клип я была в шоке .
First of all I love her music.
Stupid degenerate modern "art".

Jesse Krimes gives hope to many who feel unheard and unseen.
Interesting would not have guessed he was into sports memorabilia. A wee dram , made a piece , a great little production…. Very cool !
0:17 sound like a early version of bass rattles stars out the sky probably is cause this song is from the no love deep web era
she not even touching the tools or stone. these are just art collectors and admirers not artists. expressly the witch. may the blood of Jesus to saturate her from head to toe in Jesus name amen
OMG the interviewer is getting an education, and Basquiate ever so polite and patient !
Pause
Reminds me of Matthew Barney.
Got to see this video at the Walker Arts Center in 2023, my boyfriend and I thought it was absolutely hilarious. For the rest of the week, we were walking around saying "HAMBURGER press. ICE pick. JUICer." We'd mimic the motions and the odd cast-off shrug Martha does at the end and we were just in stitches the whole time. Brilliantly unexpected comedy, there's something about this piece that seems to foreshadow a lot of Gen Z post-internet comedy in a way that still feels weirdly fresh.
